James G. Douglas, MD, MS, is associate professor, Departments of Radiology, Oncology, Pediatrics, and Neurologic Surgery, at the University of Washington Medical Center. He earned his MS degree in medical microbiology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Washington/Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle, and was chief resident, Department of Oncology, University of Washington. He received a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology from the National Cancer Institute, Pediatric Oncology Branch, Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr Douglas serves as consultant for the Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center, General Tumor and Brain Tumor Boards in Seattle and also for the University of Washington Stereotactic Radiosurgery Tumor Board. He is the first recipient of the Alexander Rodney Muir Professorship of Education in Radiation Oncology and is listed in the book America’s Top Doctors for Cancer.
He authored or coauthored 30 articles for refereed journals, 6 book chapters, and numerous abstracts and has given 20 invited national or international presentations. He also serves as Editorial Group Chair for Radiation Oncology.
Dr Douglas is a member of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) Radiation Oncology Committee, a radiation oncology representative of the SWOG Melanoma Committee, and a member of the Children’s Oncology Group.
